BUSWORLD PHOTOGRAPHY

I AM CHRISTOPHER LEACH THE ARTIST. I started this blog so that I can share with everyone my vast collection of transport photographs showing a personal and nostalgic view of the industry with images that span some 45 years taking in the U.K and some of Europe. I have no darkroom and so rather than being the perfectionist after tidying them up I upload the images warts and all, and even those that won't scan squarely or are scratched. In a way it adds age and character. You are all free to download these for your personal use but please remember I still own them and you are not just free to use them without prior permission for any knd of publishing. Travel West Midlands Optare Spectre

Seen just as the new Bull Ring Shopping Centre was going up was 4002 one of Travel West Midlands Optare Spectres on the 50 to The Maypole which seemed to host non-standard buses having formerly been the haunt of the Alexander bodied Scanias. These now work from Wolverhampton and despite seeing the odd one on the 79 and the 529 I've been told that they don't tend to do very long runs as they are unreliable and prone to breakdowns. I'll have to take a ride one before they are withdrawn as the only ride I ever had on this type was in London on the 12 when theirs were still new!
